   randy luckey is a musician/photographer located in phoenix, arizona.  in studying music composition with james demars while at arizona state university, the focus of the writing was in the progressive rock & jazz genres by way of instrumental suites and song cycles for small ensembles.  it was during this time that 1220 was conceived...  in essence, as a vehicle in which to play these works.   while 1220, the ensemble, was short lived, the success of the band secured a future in the creative fields as well as supplying a name that has been kept for all creative and business endeavors.

   upon exiting arizona state, a search began for venues that would be in need of original music.   one responded, shortly another and so on.  live performances became a thing of the past as studio work was the rule.  radio & tv spots, multimedia cd roms, industrial videos all called for new music.  the styles were of the greatest interest as new age, classical, rock, ragtime, and even the evil & dreaded lite-jazz all were requested and supplied in rapid fashion, never once not coming in on schedule.
